When we start out boating we generally have a pretty basic set up. Mine was a 13ft tinny with an old Johnson, no fish finder or even rod holders! But as we upgrade to bigger boats (and as we age) the more we appreciate those ‘press-of-the-button’ features that take the hassle out of boating and fishing. Don't let your outboard ruin your day!When you’re at the boat ramp all geared up for an epic day’s fishing, the last thing you want is your outboard motor to let you down. We’ve received our fair share of calls from disappointed boaties in this position. Thankfully most issues can be resolved over the phone but here are some tips to avoid this situation.
Finding the right outboard propeller can significantly impact your boat’s performance and your boating enjoyment. If your propeller is too big or too small (in pitch and diameter) you’ll be frustrated by either sluggish acceleration or low top-end speed. The wrong size propeller can also cause wear and tear on your engine.
